This is absolutely beautiful, Antonella. Your words and photos truly feel like a sanctuary. The story of the scarred deer brought tears to my eyes—what a beautiful reminder that survival is a quiet, fierce grace. Thank you for using your heart to listen, and for reminding us to do the same. "I see you" is a mantra we all need right now.
I am so happy that my words made sense. sometimes I think maybe i should just stop paying attention because it would be easier but then I know I would never be able to do that…what is out there, waiting to be seen is too important. Thanks so much for reading and feeling it!
Thank you, Antonella. There is a kind of intentional suffering in seeing. It is the vulnerability of seeing and being seen. You captured that beautifully.
My absolute favorite writing of yours, Antonella. I live in a city but up a little bit on a mountainside. My house is surrounded by green area, and this wild area affects me so much. I see deer and their fawns, bears, rabbits, coyote and so many birds that still call this populated area HOME. Because of the wooded areas woven throughout the houses I see wild creatures regularly. Our neighbor has a camera mounted outside and about a month ago, a mountain lion walked in front of our house and into my neighbor's yard. We are all trying to coexist and survive. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. I am blessed by them.
Animals first language is energy. They read it, they know your intentions. Your energy of appreciation reverberates throughout the forest, and your writing is a connecting piece with many like-minded individuals all over the world, the spark of change! It only takes one spark to build a fire.
Thanks Martina! You words are so kind. I’m pretty sure this side of the mountains does not look so much different than yours but for sure there is always something new to discover. One day we’ll organise an exchange trip 😊
Your writing is so deeply moving. I feel so much emotion when I read your words. To live close to nature is not for the faint of heart, yet it is a most precious gift. I wish more of the world could see what we are losing... and what there is to be gained by connecting on a deeper level.
Jamie, you are absolutely right. To feel nature is an incredible gift but it comes with so much conflicted emotions. We are witnesses of what is going on, we try to be helpful, not intrusive, kind ..but we also feel powerless. it’s like facing defeat every day knowing you cannot give up. It is so complex. thanks so much for taking the time to read and reflect on my words.
Love this one! We often think attention is passive, something that just happens to you. But to truly see a life: a deer, a bird, a single leaf trembling in the wind, is an act. You give something when you look that hard!

Thank you, Antonella.
Some people collect photographs. You collect moments that might otherwise disappear unnoticed.
Your deer was not just seen—it was understood.
Please keep paying attention. The world needs people who still do.
Your words touch me, deeply. Thanks so much.

I’m so glad it resonates. Thanks so much for taking the time to sit with it
Wonderful... Thank you for reminding us to see beyond the obvious, to see with our heart.
You are so welcome!
